Free Personality Test: Find Out Which of the 16 Types You Are
Wondering what your personality type is? Answer 60 quick questions in about 10 minutes, with no sign-up needed. You'll get a clear picture of your strengths, how you communicate, the careers that tend to suit you, and how you show up in relationships.
How the Free Personality Test Works
You'll see 60 short statements about how you think, feel, and act. For each one, pick how well it describes you on a 5-point scale, from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree. There are no right or wrong answers, so go with your first instinct.
Your answers are scored on four pairs of preferences:
Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)
Do you recharge around people, or on your own?
Sensing (S) or Intuition (N)
Do you trust concrete facts and experience, or patterns and possibilities?
Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
Do you lean on logic, or on values and how a choice affects people?
Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)
Do you like plans settled, or options kept open?
Take one letter from each pair and you have your four-letter type, like INFP or ESTJ. Four pairs with two options each: that's where the 16 types come from. For a closer look at the questions and scoring, see how our personality test works.
Who Built the Test
The questions were written and reviewed by our clinical psychology team, including Hamail Ijaz, Clinical Psychologist. You can read more about the people behind FindPersonality on our About Us page.
What This Test Is (and Isn't)
FindPersonality is a free self-reflection tool based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. It isn't the official MBTI® assessment, and it isn't a clinical or diagnostic tool. Think of your result as a starting point for understanding yourself, not a label.
What You'll Learn From Your Results
Most people want more than four letters. They want to know what those letters mean for their work, their relationships, and the habits they keep repeating. Your report covers three areas.

Your Strengths and Growth Areas
See the traits that come naturally to you, the situations where you tend to struggle, and practical ways to grow. Ever wondered why some tasks drain you while others feel effortless? This is usually where the answer shows up.
Careers That Tend to Suit You
Your personality shapes how you solve problems, handle pressure, and work with others. Your results show which roles, tasks, and work environments are likely to fit your strengths. That helps whether you're choosing a degree, planning a career change, or figuring out why your current job feels the way it does.
For examples by type, read our guide to careers for each personality type.

How You Connect With People
From how you handle conflict to how you show you care, your type says a lot about your relationships. Your report explains your communication style, what you need from the people close to you, and the kinds of people you click with naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the personality test really free?
Yes. You can take the full test and see your results without paying or creating an account.
How long does the test take?
About 10 minutes for 60 questions. Go with your first reaction rather than overthinking each one.
Is this the official MBTI test?
No. Our test uses the four preference pairs from Carl Jung's type theory, but it isn't the official MBTI® assessment, which is a paid instrument from The Myers-Briggs Company.
How accurate is the test?
No personality test is perfect. Your result depends on answering honestly, and on how you feel the day you take it. If you score close to the middle on a pair, a retake may land on the other letter. Read your profile and see how well it fits; you're the best judge.
Can my personality type change?
Your core preferences tend to stay fairly stable, but how you express them can shift with age, experience, and circumstances. That's why people near the middle on a preference sometimes get a different type on a retake.
Is there a best personality type?
No. Every type has its own strengths and blind spots. The goal is to understand yours, not to rank it.
